In the best of worlds, all children should have the love and stability of a nurturing family, but, sadly, that is far from the reality for far too many infants, toddlers and school-age children in New Jersey. A heartbreaking number - upwards of thousands each year - suffer from abuse, neglect and continual instability…factors that can only negatively impact the development of a child and turn the possibility of a promising future into a
bleak picture of hopelessness and despair.
The power to change the life of a child, to put a child's bedtime fears - and tears - to rest, is more than possible. Children's Aid and Family Services offers a range of opportunities for you to provide a child in desperate need of a family with as much nurturing, love and support as you are capable of giving. By opening your heart and home to a child, you can be a source of strength and wisdom during these important years of growth and development, helping him or her to thrive emotionally and physically.
Children's Aid and Family Services has been helping children who don't have families that are able to care for them since 1899. The agency is uniquely qualified to guide you every step of the way, helping you navigate this new terrain by providing comprehensive support and guidance.
A staff member is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week -- an especially reassuring fact if you are fostering a child with behavioral or learning issues.
