A place of tranquility and serenity...

Just about one year ago, it was a wooded lot overgrown with weeds. Now, thanks to the efforts and generosity of the Ridgewood A.M. Rotary, The New Jersey Landscape Contractors Association, The Paramus Rotary and hundreds of volunteers, it’s been transformed into a botanical oasis.

The Healing Garden contains outdoor patios, beautiful gardens full of lush flowers, a pond, a gazebo, and a labyrinth. The garden provides an oasis of tranquility where children and adult clients can meditate, find solace, or simply reflect upon nature’s beauty. Healing gardens have been shown to be effective in reducing stress, anxiety, behavioral problems in children, digestive problems, and other common disorders.

The Healing Garden will be used in conjunction with many of the agency’s programs including Social Skills and Horticultural Therapy for Children and Elderly Caregiver Assistance.

Special Occasion Photography

Our agency is offering area photographers the unique opportunity to use the lovely Healing Garden, located at Riggs House, 148 Prospect Street, in the heart of Ridgewood, as a background for weddings, engagement parties, or bar/bat mitzvah photos. A donation of $75 for up to 2 hours, with all proceeds benefiting the vulnerable children and families the agency serves, is suggested.

Only one event at a time will be scheduled at the Healing Garden, allowing you to use the entire garden as a backdrop. You can take your time to get just the perfect photo, and not be rushed out by another party. For your convenience, there is ample parking on site.

I hope you will consider our Healing Garden as a venue, and that you will suggest it as an ideal location for photo shoots to your clients. You will have access to a beautiful photo backdrop, and will also be helping vulnerable children and families through your donation. I think you will find the Healing Garden a wonderful place to celebrate a family occasion.
