SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUNG ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES


CHILDREN’S AID AND FAMILY SERVICES BELIEVES:

We empower and serve individuals in need of specialized supports through innovative services that improve their ability to live fulfilling lives in the community.


IN-HOME SUPPORTS HELP THOSE CHALLENGED BY DEVELOPMENTAL DISABLILITIES TO:

  • Set and meet personal goals.
  • Become active members of their communities.
  • Foster independence and encourage personal growth.
  • Manage daily care routines.

LEARNING LIFE SKILLS

In-Home Support Caregivers provide individualized support for children with developmental disabilities, helping them to set personal goals and learn the basic skills of day-to-day living. Ultimately, the program is intended to encourage personal growth and teach recipients to become contributing and active members of their communities. We seek to improve care recipients’ overall quality of life, as well as support the entire family in this endeavor.


WHO WE SERVE

This program will serve children and young adults ages 6 through 21 while they are covered by their educational entitlement. In-Home Support Services are provided in counties throughout Northern and Upper Central New Jersey. Children are referred to the In-Home Supports Program through the Regional Office of the New Jersey Department of Human Services Division of Developmental Disabilities.


PROGRAM SERVICES

Currently in Development:

  • Community residences throughout the northern New Jersey area.
  • Wrap-around emergency in-home supports.
  • Respite care.
  • In-home CPEP supports.
