The Event Committee is busy planning a fun and memorable gala, one with country-western flair. And you still have time to don your Stetson, jeans and bandana and join them at the agency's seventh annual gala, "Home on the Range," on Friday, March 26, 2010, at The Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, NJ. Tickets start at $150 and registration is available at www.cafsnj.org. The event will benefit vulnerable children and families in our shared communities.

Free Workshop on Trans-Racial Adoption
For most people thinking about adopting a child of a different race, there are many questions and concerns. To help families get the information they need to make this decision, Children's Aid and Family Services is presenting "Trans-Racial Adoption: Explore the Issues of Raising a Child of a Different Race or Culture," at its Family and Adoption Services Center, 148 Prospect Street, Ridgewood, NJ. This free workshop is Thursday, March 18, 2010 from 7:30 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Topics covered include Addressing Racism and Prejudices, Cultural Assimilation and Self-Esteem. The workshop will be led by Elizabeth Soto and Pauline Poku, both adoption specialists with Children's Aid and Family Services. To register, call 201.445.7015 x212.
