(Paramus, NJ) October 2, 2007 - Whether you're a working parent, or a retired grandparent, there are many ways you can get involved and help vulnerable children in your community, through Children's Aid and Family Services, one of the largest regional, nonprofit human services organizations serving northern New Jersey.
Do you miss those grandbabies that live out of state? Come cuddle with our little ones in our daycare center. Do you enjoy reading to children, tutoring, or teaching a new skill such as sewing, cooking or knitting? Our children thrive on the attention of volunteers and mentors. Perhaps you are not ready to make a commitment to foster a child, but would like to become an advocate for our agency. Your circle of friends can help spread the word for recruitment that might reach the right person who is considering this choice.
We have many opportunities, such as becoming a mentor or volunteer in one of our programs; reading to children in our daycare center; running a diaper drive or distributing infant supplies to vulnerable families in the community for the Baby Basics program; joining our Grandmother's Babysitting Club; offering an extra pair of hands in our infant room; becoming an advocate for our agency; becoming a foster parent; or donating time or resources to help us achieve our goals. Opportunities are available in locations throughout Bergen County.
We invite you to hear more about our many services in the community by attending our Open House on Thursday, November 1. There will be 2 sessions, in the afternoon from 12 - 1:30 p.m., and in the evening at 6:00 - 7:30 at the head office of Children's Aid and Family Services, located at 200 Robin Road in Paramus.
Please call Cyndy Mitchell, Manager of Volunteer and Community Relations, at 201-261-2800 x222 for more information or to confirm your attendance.
