A village favorite returns

Third annual "Easter in Ridgewood" photo contest to benefit Children's Aid and Family Services

(Ridgewood, NJ) March 22, 2007 - For the third year in a row, Ridgewood, NJ-based photographer Josephine Dvorken is leading an Easter-themed poster contest to benefit Children's Aid and Family Services. Ms. Dvorken specializes in one-of-a-kind portraits, and is offering special sessions at a discounted rate of $150. The offer is available to the first 20 children whose parents make a $150 donation to Children's Aid and Family Services. Ms. Dvorken will photograph children ages birth - 16.

The photos of the children, who must wear festive, spring hats during their sessions, will be voted on next spring during the 2008 "Easter in Ridgewood" poster contest. The Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce Easter in Ridgewood Committee and invited guest judges will vote to determine the winning portrait. The picture garnering the most votes will be displayed throughout the village on the 2008 "Easter in Ridgewood" poster.

In addition to the deeply reduced session fee, the first 20 families to make a donation will also receive $20 gift certificates to each of the following Ridgewood businesses: Happy Tuesday, Little Steps, and the Silver Spoon gourmet food market, as well as a $10 gift certificate from Ridgewood Coffee Company. Additionally, they will receive a free chair massage, mini facial and total makeover from Town & Country Apothecary and Fine Cosmetics, valued at $150. Ms. Dvorken is donating all session fees to Children's Aid and Family Services.

"The poster contest is a unique and creative way to benefit the vulnerable children and families the agency serves," says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO. "I'm especially grateful To Ms. Dvorken and the local businesses that take part in this event, for their time and generosity. I'm thrilled that the poster contest has become an annual tradition in the village."

To enter the contest, visit Happy Tuesday, located at 210 E. Ridgewood Avenue in Ridgewood, telephone 201-447-0074, and make a check payable to Children's Aid and Family Services, Inc., in the amount of $150. Then call Ms. Dvorken at 201-444-0321 no later than April 8 to make an appointment. Ms. Dvorken will hold sessions on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays throughout April.
