( Paramus , NJ ) November 14, 2006 - The Glen Rock Women In Community Service (WICS) and Children's Aid and Family Services are collaborating on a spectacular fundraising effort that will support the activities of both groups, while providing local Glen Rock merchants with a unique way to advertise their businesses.
Glen Rock WICS members will be approaching local businesses and individual patrons to purchase spots on GLENROCKOPOLY, a board game based on everyone's favorite game, but with a fun twist. Instead of the streets of Atlantic City, the board will consist of familiar and beloved properties and people from the borough. All local businesses, restaurants, civic organizations and residents are invited to participate.
"The game is a terrific way for businesses to promote their services to the community, become immortalized in the borough's history, and most important, support the Glen Rock WICS and Children's Aid and Family Services," says Liz Mason, executive vice president, Children's Aid and Family Services. "We anticipate that many local realtors will purchase the game as a gift for new home buyers, and that it will also be sold in many retail businesses throughout Glen Rock."
Glen Rock WICS members will be approaching local businesses and individual patrons to purchase spots on the board. The prices are as follows: Two premium spots on the board will be available for $400 each; four corner spots will be $350 each; property spaces will be $250 each; three "fate" spots will be $275 each; seven currency sponsorships will be $150 each; 100 patron spots (which will be printed on the center of the board) will be available for $50 each. Completed games will be sold for $25 each.
Glen Rock Women In Community Services (WICS) is a group of devoted women who support local programs, including Emmanuel Cancer Foundation, Meals on Wheels, Shelter Our Sisters, and the Center for Food Action, to name a few. Glen Rock WICS also sponsors community events such as the borough's Halloween Parade and Spelling Bee for the 4th and 5th graders.
