(Paramus, NJ) - September 19, 2011 - People foster a child for many reasons. They want to help a child in need of love and nurturing. Their own children are grown and they miss family life. They want to give back to the community and believe fostering is the way to make a positive difference in the future.
Children's Aid and Family Services is holding an open house for anyone interested in learning about fostering or adopting a child on Thursday, October 13, 2011, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the YMCA of Montclair, Geyer Family YMCA, 159 Glenridge Avenue in Montclair, NJ. The agency is seeking loving individuals and couples to care for medically needy infants and toddlers, as well as older children in its care. There will be light refreshments and a raffle for a gift basket.
Foster parents receive a financial stipend, training and support. Additionally, children in foster care have health insurance coverage.
