(Paramus, NJ) November 15, 2011 –The Giants Foundation donated $10,000 to Children's Aid and Family Services to help children who leave foster care at 18 years old and continue on to school or independent living. The grant will provide educational support and care packages. This support is vital to the teens' successful transition into adulthood. Lacking traditional family support, children aging out of foster care often need help with school supplies and other day-to-day expenses that most of us take for granted.
BJ's Charitable Foundation also donated $7,500 for the purchase of diapers and nutritional formula for babies and toddlers of low-income families served by the Baby Basics program of Children's Aid and Family Services. The program provides 15,000 diapers a month to needy families.
"We're grateful for the generous contributions from the Giants and BJ's," says Robert Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO of Children's Aid and Family Services. "These grants make an enormous difference in our ability to help children and families in our community."
