Ramsey Girl Scout Leads Baby Basics Drive

(Paramus, NJ) May 6, 2011 – Andrea Felice of Ramsey recently delivered more than 5,000 diapers to Children's Aid and Family Services' Baby Basics program, which provides baby essentials to low-income families in Bergen County with children ages two and younger. Ms. Felice, of Ramsey, is an eighth grader at Eric S. Smith Middle School in Ramsey and a Cadet Girl Scout with Ramsey Troop 569. She chose to lead a Baby Basics supply drive as her project for earning the Girl Scout's Silver Award. She placed diaper donation boxes in each of Ramsey's five schools, as well as Ramsey Borough Hall, the Ramsey Police Station and the Ramsey Post Office.

Ms. Felice learned of the Baby Basics program from her grandfather, the Honorable Nicholas Felice, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of Children's Aid and Family Services.

"We are absolutely thrilled with this tremendous donation," says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO of Children's Aid and Family Services. "We distribute approximately 15,000 diapers a month to families in need. Andrea ran such a successful drive, and it will be a huge help to our Baby Basics program."
