(Paramus, NJ) June 2, 2011 – Throughout the years, family structures have changed considerably. Today, there are many families formed by same-sex and single GLBT parents. Many of these parents have concerns about the issues and challenges their children face, as well as questions or comments that may be raised by peers and adults in the community or at school.
To help families and their adopted children with these issues, Children's Aid and Family Services is presenting "Family Empowerment: Navigating the Path of the Formative Years," at its Family and Adoption Services Center, 148 Prospect Street, Ridgewood, NJ. This free workshop is Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
This workshop will be led by family clinician Chris McGuire, LPC and uses strategies acquired from teachers, school counselors, psychologists and GLBT parents to provide innovative ways to ensure the most positive developmental experiences.
