Elaine and Michael Adler Receive National Award

  (l. – r.): Mike and Elaine Adler and their daughter, Marie Adler-Kravecas.

(Paramus, NJ) June 21, 2011 – Elaine and Michael Adler have been named "Player of the Year" by the USA Toy Library Association (USA-TLA). The national award is given annually in recognition of exemplary service to children, play and toy libraries. In 2005, Mr. and Mrs. Adler founded the Elaine Adler Toy Library at Turrell Child Care & Early Learning Center, a division of Children's Aid and Family Services. Mrs. Adler serves as president of the USA-TLA.

"The Elaine Adler Toy Library has helped countless families at the Turrell Center," says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO of Children's Aid and Family Services. "Nearly 45 percent of the families whose children attend the Turrell Center are low-income. With limited means to purchase books and toys, the toy library is a tremendous help to them."

About the USA Toy Library Association
The first toy lending library opened in the United States in 1935. The USA Toy Library Association represents a community of toy libraries in the country that serve children from ages birth to 8. The focus of the toy library is age-appropriate play with toys that are loaned, just as books are loaned in the library.
