(Paramus, NJ) January 19, 2011 – TD Bank, through its charitable giving arm the TD Charitable Foundation, has given a $7,500 grant to Children's Aid and Family Services to help provide funding for the agency's Life Skills Youth Development Program. This program teaches the foster children in the agency's care critical skills -- such as doing laundry, cooking dinner, opening a bank account and managing money, paying bills, getting a driver's license and applying for a job or to college -- helping them to attain self-sufficiency and successfully transition to independent living when they become young adults.
"We're extremely grateful for the TD Charitable Foundation's generous support," says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO of Children's Aid and Family Services. "This donation will help us continue to equip the children in our care with the types of skills needed to ensure their futures are healthy and productive."
