(Paramus, NJ) April 19, 2011 – The Janet Fund recently donated an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) to Children's Aid and Family Services' Medical Services and Advocacy Center. The AED will be located at the agency's administrative building at 200 Robin Road, which serves children attending the Turrell Child Care & Early Learning Center, as well as foster children visiting the Medical Services and Advocacy Center.
"Having an AED on site helps us to safeguard the health and wellbeing of the children we serve," says Liz Mason, senior vice president, planning & strategic development for Children's Aid and Family Services. "We are enormously grateful to The Janet Fund for this vitally important donation."
About The Janet Fund The Janet Zilinski Memorial Fund (JZMF) was established in 2006 after the sudden death of Janet Zilinski, a seemingly healthy child who collapsed while jogging at cheerleading practice. The Janet Fund is dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac death in New Jersey's youth through awareness, legislation, AED placement and training. Its mission is to make Automatic External Defibrillators (AEDs) available in every school in NJ and make them commonplace on playing fields. Janet's father, Jim Zilinski, who works as chairman full-time for the foundation, visited Children's Aid and Family Services to present the AED. He said, "I am delighted to donate the AED on behalf of the Janet Fund to Children's Aid and Family Services. It will make the facility a safer place for all of the children served there."
