"A Green Carpet Affair" a Grand Slam

(Paramus, NJ)   September 2, 2010 – After walking a "green carpet" into a private home in Saddle River, NJ, with their glamorous wives, 28 PGA TOUR professionals -- including 2010 winner Matt Kuchar, 2009 champion Heath Slocum, Dustin Johnson, Kenny Perry, Justin Rose and Mark Wilson -- mingled with guests at "A Green Carpet Affair." Internationally acclaimed author Harlan Coben and Bobbi Brown, CEO of Bobbi Brown Cosmetics, were in attendance, as was Marty Hackel, fashion director for Golf Digest. Mr. Hackel also served as the emcee and conducted the evening's live auction, enthusiastically spurring on guests to bid on auction items, and thus help the charitable beneficiaries of the event.

Presented by Sentient Jet, the evening benefited the PGA TOUR Wives Association and Paramus-based Children's Aid and Family Services' Children's Health Center, which is scheduled to open in 2011. The Health Center will be the first primary medical care in the country specifically for infants, children and teenagers in foster care who have medical and other special needs.

The evening's activities included the chance for guests to putt with PGA TOUR professionals as well as silent and live auctions. The auction prizes included a vacation package that featured rounds of golf with PGA TOUR player Dustin Johnson and another with Kenny Perry, two tickets to Fashion Week with designer Tory Burch, a wine experience in Tuscany, a private jet charter excursion with Sentient Jet, and the opportunity to be named as a character in Mr. Coben's next book. Nearly 300 guests attended the event.

"This was a wonderful, star-studded evening that helped raise funds for our new health center for infants, children and teenagers in foster care," says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO of Children's Aid and Family Services. "We are all so grateful to the PGA TOUR Wives Association, the great number of PGA TOUR professionals and their wives who attended, our corporate sponsors and the members of the local community who supported this event so generously."
