(Paramus, NJ) November 24, 2010 - More than 250 area residents attended the agency's 10th annual Wine and Food Tasting Evening that was held recently at The Woman's Club of Ridgewood. The evening's honoree was The Northern New Jersey Business Volunteer Council. The BVC is a group of companies whose members work year-round to help children and families with issues like hunger, literacy, education and well-being.

Presented by TD Bank, food was generously donated by Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar, Chevy's Fresh Mex, Panera Bread and The Shannon Rose, and wines were provided by Carlo Russo's Wine and Spirit World of Ho-Ho-Kus. The evening also included a silent auction featuring vacation packages, a baseball autographed by NY Yankee great Whitey Ford, Kate Spade handbags, many fine wines and gift certificates for personal training sessions.

Proceeds from the event will support programs for infants and young children in the agency's care, including Baby Basics, which provides free nutritional formula and diapers to low-income families with infants and toddlers.
