"Same Sex Partner and Single GLBT Parent Adoption:
Helping Children Successfully Integrate into their Community" Free Workshop

(Paramus, NJ) March 18, 2010 – Over the years, family structures have changed considerably. Today, there are many families formed by same-sex and single GLBT parents. Although there are parent trainings available to adoptive families, they often don't focus on the specific needs of same-sex and GLBT parents. For instance, Mother's or Father's Day may need to be celebrated in a unique way. Also, same-sex and GLBT parents need to help prepare their children for any questions or comments that may be raised by peers and adults in the community. To help families navigate these issues, Children's Aid and Family Services is presenting "Same- Sex Partner and Single GLBT Adoption: Helping Children Successfully Integrate into Their Community," at its Family and Adoption Services Center, 148 Prospect Street, Ridgewood, NJ. This free workshop is Thursday, April 15, 2010, from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.

The workshop will be led by David Panozzo, psychotherapist and faculty member of the Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis, who has worked with GLBT clients and their families for 20 years.

This is part of a series of free workshops that will focus on various aspects of adoption. Upcoming workshops include:
