(Paramus, NJ) July 21, 2010 - Several of Children's Aid and Family Services' therapeutic group foster homes recently received a welcome delivery: brand new furniture from Thomasville Home Furnishings of New Jersey. The large donation included kitchen tables and chairs, entertainment armoires, china cabinets, end tables, lamps, sofas, bedroom sets and mattresses. Thomasville Home Furnishings of New Jersey president Edward Massood oversaw the delivery himself and even assembled some of the furniture.
Before making the donation, Mr. Massood went on a tour of the agency's facilities and was touched by the difference the agency makes in children's lives. He asked how he could help and staff from the agency provided him with a wish list of items for the group homes.
"We strive to provide a warm, homelike environment in the group homes, and this donation certainly helps us better achieve that," says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO of the agency. "The children are absolutely thrilled with the new furniture and how nice it's made the houses look. We're extremely grateful to Mr. Massood and Thomasville Home Furnishings of New Jersey for their generosity. Their gift is a wonderful demonstration of the compassion and generosity the children in our care so desperately need."
