(Paramus, NJ) January 27, 2010 – TD Bank, through its charitable giving arm the TD Charitable Foundation, has given a $9,500 grant to Children's Aid and Family Services to help provide funding for the agency's Life Skills Youth Development Program. This program teaches the foster children in the agency's care critical skills -- such as doing laundry and cooking dinner, opening a bank account, paying bills and managing money, getting a driver's license, and applying for a job or to college -- helping them to attain self-sufficiency and successfully transition to independent living when they become young adults.
"We're profoundly grateful for the TD Charitable Foundation's generous support," says Bob Jones, Ph.D., president & CEO of Children's Aid and Family Services. "This donation will help us continue to equip the children in our care with the types of skills needed to ensure their healthy and productive futures."
