(Paramus, NJ) August 10, 2010 – Children's Aid and Family Services is presenting a free workshop, "The Adopted Child's Journey: Questions Along the Way," at its Family and Adoption Services Center, 148 Prospect Street, Ridgewood, NJ. It will be held on Thursday, September 16, 2010 from 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
The workshop will address issues that often arise for adopted children, including school and peer concerns, as well as questions about identity and loss, and how parents can help children navigate through them. Based on the book Twenty Things Adopted Kids Wish Their Adoptive Families Knew, by Sherrie Eldridge, the workshop will be led by Dana W. Fried, assistant director of the New Jersey Adoption Resource Clearing House (NJ ARCH) and Kinship Legal Guardianship Clearing House (KinKonnect), both programs of Children's Aid and Family Services.
