(Paramus, NJ)   April 2, 2010 – Children's Aid and Family Services brought the old west to northern New Jersey with its recent spring gala, "Home on the Range." The Hackensack Golf Club in Oradell, NJ was transformed into the Wild West, complete with a jail, watering hole and cactuses. The guests mingled with can-can dancing girls and country star celebrity look-alikes Dolly Parton and Willie Nelson. There was even a kidnapping, with two masked marauders holding agency president and CEO Bob Jones, Ph.D., for ransom. Happily, he was returned to the gala unharmed, and all funds collected for his "release" were donated to the agency.

The guests -- clad in western attire -- enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, a barbeque dinner buffet, and delicious pies for dessert, while bidding on several one-of-a-kind opportunities and experiences in the live and silent auctions. Highlights from the auction included the opportunity to be named as a character in bestselling author Harlan Coben's upcoming novel and stays at several vacation homes in exotic locales.

"We are extremely grateful to our generous sponsors, our guests, and our special event committee that worked hard to make this event fun and memorable, as well as raise funds for the vulnerable children and families the agency serves," says Dr. Jones.

Sponsors for the 2010 gala included Allen & Overy, LLP, Applebee's Neighborhood Grill and Bar, First Franchise Capital Corporation, The Royal Bank of Scotland, Boiling Springs Savings Bank, Hudson City Savings Bank, BD, Toys "R" Us, Inc., The Shannon Rose Irish Pub, Brenda and Frank Gallagher, Patti and Robert McKillip, United Water and media sponsor Town News.
