(Paramus, NJ) March 17, 2008 - Read Now! will hold its second Bookfest on Saturday, April 5, 2008, from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Paterson Free Public Library, 250 Main Street, Paterson, NJ. Building on last year's successful event, there will be free books, story time, bookmark making and refreshments. Volunteers will be available to help children and adults find the books they want to take home with them. There will also be raffle drawings for some special books throughout the day, as well as books for older children and adults.
Support for Read Now! comes from individuals, foundations and companies. Book supplies for the Bookfest will be bolstered by donations from Barnes & Noble, Wells Mountain Foundation and the Lisa Libraries. Starbucks will provide the refreshments.
Read Now! is an all-volunteer project designed to bring books and provide volunteer readers for disadvantaged young children. Its major target group is pre-school children in and around Paterson. It is affiliated with Children's Aid and Family Services.
Children's Aid and Family Services is one of the largest regional, nonprofit human services organizations serving northern New Jersey. The agency is fully accredited and has served the community for more than 100 years. Its mission is to
