(Paramus, NJ) March 5, 2008 - Children's Aid and Family Services was recently presented with a check for $2,000 from West Orange, New Jersey-based Papillon Incorporated. The agency was the primary beneficiary of Papillon's Masquerade fall fundraiser.
The proceeds of the fundraiser will directly support Children's Aid and Family Services' Thomas R. Burgin Parents Fund, which provides financial assistance to teens aging out of foster care and attending college or vocational training. It also serves as a source of emergency funding for any former client of one of the agency's foster care programs.
Founded in November 2003, Papillon Incorporated is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization conceived by women who wanted to find a way to use the strength of friendships to contribute something back to the community. Papillon Incorporated designs and implements programs which provide enrichment and encouragement to those affected by social issues surrounding urban youth, women's health, and economic development.
Children's Aid and Family Services is one of the largest regional, nonprofit human services organizations serving northern New Jersey. The agency is fully accredited and has served the community for more than 100 years. Its mission is to preserve, protect and, when needed, provide families. Motivated by compassion for vulnerable children, young adults, frail elderly and their families, it provides high-quality and innovative services that meet their social, educational and emotional needs.
