(Paramus, NJ) March 24, 2008 - IKEA Paramus is offering a beginner's course in CPR to teach infant, child and adult CPR techniques, as well as the Heimlich maneuver. This course is taught under American Safety Health Institute Guidelines (ASHI) and the certification is good for two years.
The course is being offered Wednesday, April 16th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, April 17th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Space is limited to 10 participants per class. Course materials to take home, certification card and refreshments are compliments of IKEA Paramus.
The cost of the course is $45, with 100 percent of the proceeds benefiting Baby Basics, a program run by Children's Aid and Family Services. Baby Basics provides nutritional formula and diapers for children less than 2 years old of low-income parents, along with parent education and a safety net system of emotional support and referrals.

IKEA Paramus is also accepting infant supplies on behalf of Baby Basics. Donations can be dropped off at customer service or brought to the CPR course. The following items are needed: All sizes and brands of diapers, baby shampoo and wash, Similac, Enfamil, Isomil and Carnation Good start nutritional formulas, baby wipes, new or gently used baby clothing, and bibs and bottles.
