(Paramus, NJ) November 20, 2007 - More than 800 people attended this year's annual Hoop-A-Paluza fundraising event in Millburn, NJ, shooting baskets, and enjoying refreshments and entertainment. The event raised more than $500,000, which will benefit several child-centric charities, including Children's Aid and Family Services' "Boarder Babies" foster care program, which provides temporary foster families for infants whose birth families are unable to care for them. Registered participants raised money by obtaining pledges from donors who sponsored them to shoot 20 free throws. Agency staff and friends participated in the event, sinking baskets to raise money, while family and friends cheered them on.
