(Paramus, NJ) June 1, 2007 - Attention sommeliers and masters of wine! Prime your taste buds for a fundraising effort that's sure to please. Children's Aid and Family Services Wine & Food Tasting Evening is taking place on Saturday, October 20, 2007, at St. Leon's Church, on Saddle River Road, in Fair Lawn. Proceeds will benefit Baby Basics, a program that provides vitally needed formula and diapers to babies of low-income parents, as well as other programs serving vulnerable infants and children.
Baby Basics serves hundreds of Bergen County families each year. Clients are eligible to participate for two years: they receive formula for one year and diapers for two. The program helps those who earn low salaries, but don't meet the requirements for the government program WIC (Women, Infants, and Children).
A wide variety of wines will be served, offering guests a taste of everything from Bourdeaux to Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon to Sauvignon Blanc, and Merlot to Pinot Noir. Wine is always best served with food, and this evening will be no exception. Local eateries are generously donating a wide variety of savory foods and sumptuous desserts for the event.
To top it off, a silent auction will be held and guests will have the chance to bid on an array of exciting items donated by area businesses. Tickets are $75 and can be purchased in advance. There will also be music, exciting raffles and prizes, and a still top-secret pop-the-cork event. For more information on Baby Basics, the wine tasting evening, or to order tickets, call the development department at 201-261-2800 or visit www.cafsnj.org.
