The time for the agency’s much-anticipated, annual fall soiree is near! Children's Aid and Family Services will hold its 2008 Wine and Food Tasting fundraiser on Saturday, November 1, in the event hall at St. Leon’s Church in Fair Lawn, New Jersey. Just like our successful 2007 Tasting, the gathering will feature delicious food, fine wines from around the world, raffles, and the chance to bid on exciting items in a silent auction.
The Tasting offers an opportunity for local restaurants and businesses to get the word out about their savory dishes, useful services and desirable products, while helping to support New Jersey foster children and families in need. We welcome sponsorships and auction prizes from area businesses and organizations looking to take the next step to help transform lives. The proceeds will benefit our programs for infants and young children, focusing on the Baby Basics program, the children in the agency’s foster care programs, and the Turrell Child Care & Early Learning Center in Paramus.
For sponsorship, journal advertising, or donation information, please call Madinah Grier, Director of Development and Communications, at 201.261.2800. ext. 258.

We wish to extend a special thanks to Starbucks for their generous participation in our Baby Basics Drive and to all those who contributed donations. During the month of May, 18 Bergen County Starbucks locations placed donation boxes in their stores to collect baby essentials for needy families in the area. The Baby Basics Drive asked community members and Starbucks patrons to donate diapers, baby wipes, baby shampoo/wash, bibs, bottles and other infant toiletries and hygiene products. Community organizations like the Greater Paramus Chamber of Commerce and Paramus Rotary made large contributions to the Drive by providing the much-needed child-care items.

Thanks to businesses like Starbucks and community organizations like the Greater Paramus Chamber of Commerce and Paramus Rotary, we can help to reduce the sacrifices made by families in need and provide for those children without families of their own. We enthusiastically look forward to future collaborations with these organizations. The May Baby Basics Drive illustrates just a few of the many ways that businesses and individuals can positively impact the life of a child or family. If you would like to organize a similar Baby Basics Drive at your place of business or organization, please contact Cyndy Mitchell at 201.261.2800, ext. 222.
